About two weeks before my due date, I really started to go crazy. Elizabeth was great, answering my twice-daily emails and phone calls, even when I went a week late, always cheerful and encouraging. She was right there with us at the hospital, through 30 hours of on-and-off labor, and she definitely helped keep my husband and me sane! Elizabeth was very patient, answering all our questions, and I found an enormous amount of comfort just having her there for general support and conversation. The photographs she took were absolutely priceless. I cannot imagine going through our birth without her, and cannot sing her praises loud enough!" ~April A. (available for email reference) ~*~*~ |

"I appreciated that Elizabeth went above and beyond my expectations. The expertise she gave me before I had my child and also afterward really set her apart from other doulas that I looked into hiring. She wrote a birth story for my daughter so we could remember all the fun and not so fun details of the birth! She also visited me afterward to check on me and to see the baby! Even my midwife commented to me how impressed she was with Elizabeth. I am so happy that we decided to hire Elizabeth. I’ve recommended her to many, many friends, whether planning to deliver naturally or not. I believe that even if your partner is excited about being a labor coach, they’re really not prepared for the emotions and the pain that a mother is going to go through. They also don’t have the kind of nurturing nature that a woman has. I’m grateful that my husband was there and did was well as he did, but I’m also grateful that for all the help Elizabeth provided during my pregnancy and birth that my husband could have never done for me." ~Ashley N(available for email reference) ~*~*~
"We danced. That is my fondest memory of my labor, dancing with Elizabeth. As I sat on the edge of my bed, with my husband behind me massaging my back, I leaned into Elizabeth, and we rocked and swayed as though dancing. I'm pretty sure I would not have found anything else as soothing as that. My husband is eternally grateful having had her there. He says he felt much more able and helpful during this delivery than he did during our first child. Elizabeth didn't push him away and take over, she did just the opposite. She gave him tips, guided him in massages, and looked after his comfort as well. Her photography skills were used as she so beautifully captured the birth of our triplets. I'll treasure those photos forever." ~Gretchen K. (available for email reference) ~*~*~

"When I was so tensed up from the pain of the contractions, I forgot to breath and relax my muscles, and there was Elizabeth telling me to take deep breathes and relax so I could get through the pain. She was really what I needed at that time—another woman who understood what I was going through and knowing how to help. My husband was very glad that Elizabeth was there because we had no idea what to do when I was in labor. He wasn’t able to do much except comfort me, but at the same time I believe he was nervous too. I’m really grateful that I had a doula during my labor, if not I don’t know how I would be able to endure the pain of labor without an epidural. Elizabeth’s guidance and care helped me through one of the most challenging times of my life. " ~Pearl L. ~*~*~

"I was a bit skeptical about getting a doula. Isn't that something only 'weird' people do? But I decided to meet with some anyway to see what I thought. My husband and I loved Elizabeth immediately. I am not sure whom she helped more: me or him. She was there through out my whole pregnancy to help talk me through decisions, answer questions, and, of course, be my biggest cheerleader. The day of my birth she was invaluable. She took pictures that we still cherish today, made sure I had the proper nutrition to keep my energy up, and kept my husband sane. My Obstetrician was comfortable with her as well and said she would definitely recommend her if any of her other patients mentioned wanting a doula. Elizabeth will definitely be a part of my next birth." ~Kara G. (available for email reference) ~*~*~
